Our members will have been aware of the extreme weather over the last 24 hours. We are devastated to see that the club has been again inundated by flooding to the levels of which have not been seen recently. With a working party due this Saturday morning, to pack the club away, the timing could not have been worse.
We will of course be working extremely hard to salvage what we can from the club over the coming week once the water subsides. We know that our fantastic members, and those of the wider community, will once again come together at this difficult time to collectively get the club back on track for the 2022 season.
Many will know that the 2022 season will be our last at Ottermouth before we move to our new ground, and we are pleased to report that the newly constructed pitches have been completely unaffected by the recent heavy rains.
We are a strong resilient club that has been through this many times in our 100 year history, and we will come through it again. It once again further outlines the importance of the relocation work we are undertaking with our partners The Environment Agency and Clinton Devon Estates, and we look forward to making our last year at Ottermouth one to remember.
For further information, or if you would like to get involved in helping get our club back on track then please do not hesitate to contact us via social media of by emailing secretary@budleighcc.co.uk.
Thank you and best wishes,
The Committee
